The World Health Organization has praised South Korea's response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Wednesday that South Korea has controlled COVID-19 impressively, based on the nation's past experience tackling MERS.
"it has been particularly impressive to see how countries like the Republic of Korea have built on their experience of MERS to quickly implement a comprehensive strategy to find, isolate, test and care for every case and trace every contact."
He also highlighted concerns over the rising number of cases in low and middle income countries, adding the need for more efforts globally.
