A recent report on Sales and Serves Tax (SST) guidance list from MySST has revealed that smartphones and other handphones will get a 5% SST. According to economists, higher prices for electronic appliances are on the cards as well with rupee slides. LG and Samsung have already decided to increase prices of appliances by 3-5.5% from this weekend. Several online-focussed television brands have also decided to shot up their prices on some of their products.
