As many as 42 clerics of Assam issued fatwa against a girl singer who had chosen her programme venue in the vicinity of a mosque and a graveyard. Nahid Afreen, who had also participated in reality show, Indian Idol, reacted to fatwa, saying that she was shocked and broken, but decided not to quit singing.
