The major Uttarakhand forest fires have so far destroyed 2300 hectares of forested lands killing three people and taking a heavy toll on wildlife. Also more than a thousand fires are raging in different places in the state. This fire disaster has also affected the region’s overall environment. The question is who is behind the forest fires- the timber mafia or is it just a natural disaster?
