Abhimanyu is a character of the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. He was the son of third Pandava prince Arjuna and Yadava princess.It was then Arjuna was narrating the art of breaking into Chakravyuha to Subhadra. But he did not know how to destroy the formation once he was inside, as Subhadra fell asleep while listening to the story and (Abhimanyu in her womb) could learn only half of the technique. This is the reason why he was only able to enter and break but not come out of the Chakravyuha. As soon as Abhimanyu entered the formation, Jayadrath, the ruler of Sindh blocked the other Pandavas, so that Abhimanyu was left alone. Inside the Chakravyuha, the trapped Abhimanyu went on a killing rampage Subhadra
बढ़ते हुए अभिमन्यु ने दुर्योधन के पुत्र लक्ष्मण काे मार गिराया और चक्रव्यूह में प्रवेश कर गया। उसके चक्रव्यूह में प्रवेश करते ही सिंधू के राजा जयद्रथ ने चक्रव्यूह का द्वार बंद कर दिया, ताकि चारों भाई चक्रव्यूह में प्रवेश न कर पाएं। उसने एक-एक करके सभी योद्धाओं काे हरा दिया, जिनमें स्वयं दुर्योधन, कर्ण और गुरु द्रोण भी शामिल थे। बडे़-बड़े महारथियों के साथ वीर अभिमन्यु अकेला लड़ता रहा, लेकिन वह अकेला कब तक लड़ता। अंत में सभी ने मिलकर उसकी हत्या कर दी और अभिमन्यु वीर गति को प्राप्त हुआ। अभिमन्यु की मृत्यु के बाद अर्जुन ने प्रतिज्ञा ली कि वह अगले दिन युद्ध में जयद्रथ का वध कर देगा।
