DOH: 254 new COVID-19 cases; 8,212 total cases in PH

The total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country exceeded 8,000 as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 254 new people afflicted with COVID-19. There are now 8,212 COVID-19 cases nationwide as of 4 p.m. of Wednesday, April 29, said the DOH in its latest case bulletin.
The Health department also reported another 48 patients who were able to survive the disease, raising the number of recoveries to 1,023.
Meanwhile, the country’s death toll has jumped to 558 after 28 new fatalities were recorded.
Based on the situation report of the World Health Organization as of April 28, the global tally of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is at 2,954,222, including 202,597 deaths.
