코로나19 신규확진, 46일만에 하루 50명 아래로...정부 "확진 추세 섣불리 예단할 수 없어"

South Korea reported fewer than 50 new coronavirus cases on this Monday for the first time since its February 29th peak... as daily infections in Asia's largest outbreak outside China continued to trend downward.
But, it's no time to let the guards down says Korea CDC... as it's too soon to jump to conclusions based on today's tally alone.
Arirang News' Yoon Jung-min starts us off.
At the start of Monday, South Korea added 47 new coronavirus cases, mostly from around the capital area,... bringing the total to 10-thousand-284.
It has been 46 days since the number of new infections was below 50.
Health authorities, however, have said that it's too early to make projections because fewer tests were conducted during the weekend,...half as many as on Friday.
The authorities have asked people to keep abiding by the social distancing measures.
"We are very wary of making early predictions only based on the tally today. We ask people for cooperation until we have the number of new cases within our control."
Among the news cases, 20 were confirmed from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do Province and Incheon,... while 13 cases were reported from Daegu.
Out of all the new cases, 34-percent were found to have been imported from overseas.
The health authorities have also warned that there is the possibility that South Korea may experience an explosive increase in the number of infections in local communities,... as Europe and the U.S. had already seen.
The authorities reiterated the importance of social distancing,... while closely monitoring local hospitals and nursing homes,... as well as people coming in to the country from abroad.
The government confirmed on Monday,... that 51 patients who had fully recovered from the virus were found to have tested positive again.
They suspect the virus has been reactivated in their system, rather than the patients being re-infected.
Currently, health authorities are studying details of the reactivated cases.
Epidemiologists are to be sent to Daegu to find out more,... where 18 of the 51 cases were reported.
