Heart of the Swarm Plot Analysis: Dominion Space

In this series of reviews I will be examining the plot of the various groups of missions in Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm to highlight retcons, poor plots, and illogical decisions. Where relevant I will compare SC2 to SC1.
My main issues with the plot of Dominion Space missions are:
1) The pointlessness of the first mission.
2) Mengsk's Moros plan making no sense.
3) Kerrigan's invasion of the Moros making no sense.
4) The romance being poorly written.
