US President Donald Trump has initially downplayed the threat of the coronavirus outbreak and blamed the media for “not reporting fairly” on Washington’s response to the global health crisis. Now the leader of one of America’s worst-hit cities, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, has publicly criticised Trump for hesitating and missing opportunities to protect the nation.
