Hello Buddies......
First Generation = First Generation. The period of first generation was from 1942-1956. The computers of first generation used vacuum tubes as the basic components for memory and circuitry for CPU (Central Processing Unit). These tubes, like electric bulbs, produced a lot of heat and the installations used to fuse frequently.

Second Generations = A transistor computer, now often called a second generation computer, is a computer which uses discrete transistors instead of vacuum tubes. ... A second generation of computers, through the late 1956 - 1963 featured circuit boards filled with individual transistors and magnetic core memory.

Third generation = Third generation computers were computers that emerged due to the development of the integrated circuit (IC). The time period of this computer was 1964-1971. They were the first steps toward computers as we know them today. Their main feature was the use of integrated circuits, which allowed them to be shrunk down to be as small as large toasters.

Fourth Generation = Fourth Generation of computers was between 1971 – 1990. These computers used the VLSI technology or the Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) circuits technology. Therefore they were also known as the microprocessors. Intel was the first company to develop a microprocessor.

Fifth Generation = The Fifth Generation Computer Systems was an initiative by Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry, begun in 1990, to create computers using massively parallel computing and logic programming.
