Terry Jones Dead at 77 Beloved comedian, screenwriter
and historian Terry Jones died
on Jan. 21 after a long battle
with frontal lobe dementia. According to a statement by his family,
Jones fought a “brave” and “always good
humored battle” with the disease. They also remembered him as a
“truly loving man,” praising his work for
providing pleasure to “countless millions.” Jones Family, via
‘Hollywood Reporter’ Jones was best known as a founding member of
the famed British comedy troupe ‘Monty Python.’ He also acted in and co-directed the 1975
comedy ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail.’ He then went on to become the sole director
of ‘Monty Python’s Life of Brian’ in 1979, and
‘Monty Python's The Meaning of Life’ in 1983. Among other talents, Jones was also a
prolific children’s author and a noted
scholar of medieval and ancient history.
