A river at risk of bursting its banks in the south of France is being closely monitored by local authorities in Argelès-sur-Mer. Storm Gloria has lashed the coast during the past few days, bringing high seas, heavy rain and localised flooding. Town mayor Antoine Parra said they were "prepared as far as possible".
