The Shingo-La pass is a place shrouded in mystery. For the longest time it was a walking trail that connected Lahaul in Himachal Pradesh to the Zanskar valley in Ladakh, and was used to trade goods like salt and sapphires. Earlier this year though, the BRO widened it and proclaimed it motorable but it is more a rough trail.
