Maharashtra was brought under President’s rule on Tuesday after the NCP indicated it needed more time to form a government in the aftermath of a fractured mandate in the 24 October elections. The he Shiv Sena has moved the Supreme Court against Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari's refusal to give them more time to stake claim to form the government. Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray rushed to the Governor's House to express willingness to form the government and seek 3 days' time to stake claim. But Governor rejected Shiv Sena's plea seeking more time to get gather enough support.

महाराष्ट्र में सरकार गठन को लेकर 19 दिन की उठापटक के मंगलवार को राष्ट्रपति शासन लग गया है. राज्यपाल कोशियारी ने अपने अधिकारों का इस्तेमाल कर राष्ट्रपति शासन की अनुशंसा की. जिसे केंद के बाद राष्ट्रपति से भी मंजूरी मिल गई. महाराष्ट्र में सत्ता की लड़ाई अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गई है. शिवसेना ने राज्य में राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाए जाने के विरोध में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिका दाखिल की है. जिस पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में आज सुनवाई हो सकती है.
