Everton manager Marco Silva said on Thursday that injured midfielder Andre Gomes could play again before the end of the season.

Gomes suffered a fractured dislocation to his ankle after a tackle by Tottenham's Son Heung-min during the 1-1 Premier League draw at Goodison Park last Sunday.

There were fears that the Portugal international could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines but Silva revealed at a press conference that Gomes could yet be back in action this season.

Silva also revealed that Son had texted his apologies to Gomes after the match.
