Elizabeth May said in Ottawa Monday that after 13 years as Green Party leader she’s stepping down effective immediately. May said she wanted to choose a moment where the party had enjoyed a lot of success before leaving. Deputy leader Jo-Ann Roberts will be her interim successor and a leadership convention is already planned.
