Venice to charge admission fees of up to US$ 11 for tourists from July 2020
  • 5 years ago
Those visiting Italy's canal city of Venice will have to pay an entrance fee of up to eleven U.S. dollars starting next July.
Venice's council voted to impose the new tax to help maintain the city, which has been suffering from overtourism.
((Authorities say they will later reveal the exact fee and how it will be collected. ))
Those visiting Venice to study or to work are expected to be exempt.
