Nearly a dozen wild elephants were found dead downstream from the Haew Narok Waterfall in Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park.  The bodies of six of the animals were discovered October 5, 2019.  Park rangers said the elephants drowned in churning waters of the waterfall as they tried to help a three-year-old baby elephant get out of a stream.  While another five animals were found dead on October 8, two elephants from the herd survived and are being closely monitored.
