The head of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chairman Park Han-ki, held a trilateral meeting in Washington on Tuesday with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts to discuss ways to further boost their alliance.
It marked their first three-way military talks since Seoul declared its intent to terminate its intel-sharing pact with Japan due to their strained trade ties.
The meeting was arranged by the U.S. to discuss the current military alliance in the Asian Pacific region.
The United States has repeatedly expressed its disappointment over Seoul's decision regarding the intel-sharing pact,… and has asked South Korea to reconsider before the pact expires on November 22nd.
