Greta Thunberg named winner of 'alternative Nobel Prize'

Teen Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been named as one of the winners of the 2019 Right Livelihood Award, often called an 'alternative Nobel Prize'.
According to the Right Livelihood Award Foundation on Wednesday, Thunberg won the award for "inspiring and amplifying political demands for urgent climate action reflecting scientific facts".
She will receive her award in Stockholm in December, along with a cash prize of 103-thousand U.S. dollars.
Earlier at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York on Monday, she gave a fiery speech,... shaming world leaders for failing to stop climate change.
