MEPs vote to support "orderly Brexit" based on Withdrawal Agreement
  • 5 years ago
Despite British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's firm stance on a no-deal Brexit on October 31st, the European Parliament has reaffirmed its support for an "orderly Brexit" based on the already negotiated Withdrawal Agreement.
Members of European Parliament on Wednesday voted 544 to 126, finding it possible to provide an additional delay to the withdrawal.
This is based on the condition...that the prolongation is justified with a specific purpose.
The European Parliament also pledged to reject any withdrawal agreement without a backstop on the Irish border.
