MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals marched to the semi-finals of the AFC Challenge Cup by beating Turkmenistan, 2-0, in Maldives. The Turkmens tried to rattle the Azkals with quick movement early in the first half while constantly challenging the Philippines backline. But the Azkals withstood the Turkmen’s persistence, as Roland Muller foiled several attempts on the goal. The Filipinos eventually gained the advantage in the 49th minute after being granted a free kick.
