The U.S.-South Korea alliance is the "foundation for peace and prosperity" on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the region.
That's U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris in a keynote speech at the Indian Ocean Region Conference in the Maldives on Wednesday.
The former U.S. navy officer referred to the DMZ encounter between the leaders of South Korea, North Korea, and the United States back in June... saying it was a standing proof of the "strength of the U.S.-South Korea alliance for peace and prosperity."
He went on to say that South Korean President Moon Jae-in's 'New Southern Policy' - centered around 'People, Peace and Prosperity' - is in natural harmony with the U.S. vision for the Indo-Pacific.
