MANILA - A man riding a bicycle was among those injured in Monday's accident that saw a Don Mariano bus fall off the Skyway in Parañaque City. Lito Teodorico said he was just riding his bike on the service road when he was hit by debris from the ill-fated bus. "Narinig ko po may rumaragasgas, biglang may bumagsak. Hindi ko na alam kung ano nangyari sa akin. Yung tumama sa akin yung natanggal na sa bumper ata yun," he told ABS-CBN News. Teodorico is considered one of the lucky ones after 18 people were killed in the accident. Skyway officials said the bus was clearly speeding and might have been travelling at 120 kph before it crashed into the railing. Vicente Garga, a witness, said he thought a bomb went off when the bus crashed to the ground. Pepe Padilla, one of the survivors, said the bus was zigzagging before it fell off the elevated highway. Mercy Tolentino was inconsolable at the death of his husband, a passenger of the ill-fated bus and a corporate driver who was about to retire soon. She blamed the bus driver for the fate of her husband. "Kung hindi siya kaskasero, hindi sana namatay. Kasama pa namin ng Pasko at Bagong Taon," she said. Her son, Jay, said jail for the erring bus driver would not be enough. "He should die too," he said. The bus driver is among those who survived the accident.
