PNoy: No apologies from PH over Manila hostage crisis

President Aquino on Monday met with Hong Kong chief executive CY Leung at the APEC Summit. Leung sought a meeting with Aquino a day after a group of Hong Kong journalists badgered the Philippine president with questions over the 2010 Manila hostage crisis which left eight Hong Kong tourists dead. Aquino said he offered his condolences to Leung but maintained the country as a whole was not directly responsible for the tragedy. Aquino granted the request of survivors and victims' families for a dialogue with Philippine officials on the status of the cases filed in connection with the hostage-taking incident. - ANC Headstart, 8 October 2013
