MANILA, Philippines – Top featherweight boxer Orlando Cruz trains in New York on Tuesday ahead of his title bout next month. Cruz, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, will face Mexico’s Orlando “Siri” Salido for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight title on October 12th. The 32-year-old Cruz made headlines last year when he became the first active fighter to declare himself a homosexual. The boxer has said he has received overwhelming support since he made his announcement and has been happy with how he has been treated. -- Mornings @ ANC, September 25, 2013
