Bayan Muna to PNoy: Abolish your social fund too

MANILA -- Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares wants the President to do away with the funds at his disposal in line with his plan to abolish the pork barrel of lawmakers. Malacañang had said the President's Social Fund (PSF) will not be abolished, adding that it is being used properly and is also audited by the Commission on Audit (COA). But speaking to ANC, Colmenares said a COA audit does not necessarily mean the funds will not be tainted with corruption. Colmenares and Alliance of Concerned Teachers Representative Antonio Tinio also reiterated that the so-called pork barrel of the President and that of lawmakers should go directly to sectors that need the money.
