Napoles may be transferred to Laguna Saturday

MANILA -- While authorities remain tight-lipped as to when businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles will be transferred from the Makati City Jail to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, ABS-CBN sources say she will be transported in a heavily-tinted vehicle Saturday morning. In an interview with radio dzMM this morning, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Reuben Sindac said he is still unsure when the transfer will happen but they are making preparations nonetheless. "I cannot say categorically but I can assure you that they are doing their best to comply with the court's order at the soonest possible time," Sindac said. At 6:50 a.m. today, a contingent from the SAF came at the Makati City Jail followed by two members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) an hour after. Napoles, who is facing charges of serious illegal detention of whistleblower Benhur Luy, is the alleged mastermind behind the P10 billion pork barrel scam. ANC Headlines, August 31, 2013
