MANILA - A grenade explosion hit a house in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City on Wednesday morning and its owner suspects that the attack is work-related. Initial information from residents said the explosion occurred at the garage of the house at 46 Sct. Fuentebella St., near Sct. Tobias Street, shortly before 6 a.m. The explosion occurred inside the house compound. The victim, Reynaldo Fuentes, said he was with his wife and child inside the house when an unidentified suspect hurled the grenade. No one was reported injured in the explosion, but the house's gate was damaged and the rear tire of a white Toyota Fortuner parked at the garage was blown. A lever and pin of an MK2 fragmentation grenade were found at the site of explosion. In an interview with ANC, Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano, quoting Fuentes, said the explosion is work-related. Albano noted that Fuentes was recently promoted as CEO of a construction firm. Albano said Fuentes, who refused to face the media, mentioned names of people who may have perpetrated the blast. Bomb squad experts closed a portion of the street while investigation is ongoing. - Mornings@ANC, 28 August 2013
