The celebration of GaneshChaturthi was popularized by Shivaji a manner of bringing all castes of Hindus together. Since then it has turned into an annual ritual celebrated with lot of music, color and vigor by Hindus especially in Maharashtra, for a period of ten days beginning from Ganesha Chaturthi. It is believed that Lord Ganesha bestows his presence on earth for all his devotees during this festival.
पूरे भारत में गणेश चतुर्थी बहुत ही धूम धाम से मनाई जाती है. हर कहीं गणेश जी को विराजमान करके उनकी पूजा अर्चना की जाती है। इन दिनों पर ऐसा लगने लगा है कि हर कोई बस गणपति बप्पा को ही पूजता है. लेकिन आज हम बात कर रहे हैं कि गणेश उत्सव मनाने की प्रथा की शुरूआत सबसे पहले किसने और क्यों शुरु की थी ।
