Washington's nuclear envoy Stephen Biegun is to arrive in Seoul this evening... to talk with his South Korean counterparts about tightening up security cooperation between South Korea, Japan and the U.S.
On Wednesday, Biegun will likely ask South Korea to extend its military intelligence sharing agreement with Japan.
The ongoing trade friction with Japan has led South Korea to reconsider the deal which will be automatically renewed unless Seoul decides by this Saturday to scrap it.
On Thursday, Biegun will also likely talk with Kim Hyun-chong, the deputy chief of Cheong Wa Dae's National Security Office on how South Korea and the U.S. can cooperate on North Korea's denuclearization.
