China destroys 100,000 guns in illegal weapons crackdown

China destroyed 107,000 illegal guns in 154 cities across the country on August 12, 2019, during a nationwide push to crack down on gun crime. The campaign is part of Beijing’s efforts to prepare for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in October.
