South Korea's Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon says Japan's economic retaliation is an unfair decision that should not come from a world-leading country.
He was speaking at a related ministers' meeting Thursday morning to discuss the details of Japan's new export regulations that will take effect later this month.
Lee added that Japan had allowed one of the export regulated materials, EUV photoresist to be exported to South Korea.
Lee also emphasized that South Korea will increase diplomatic efforts to recover from Japan's export restrictions.
