Parliamentary defense committee adopts resolution condemning N. Korea's provocations

The National Assembly's defense committee on Monday adopted a resolution condemning North Korea's recent provocations.
It calls on Pyeongyang to immediately halt its military provocations,... saying that they are a threat to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The resolution adds that the North should faithfullly abide by a joint military agreement between the two Koreas aimed at reducing tensions... and that it will be held responsible for any violations.
This comes after the North launched multiple projectiles into the East Sea three separate times in the course of just over a week.
During the session,... South Korea's defense ministry also briefed lawmakers on related developments adding that it's analyzing the projectiles,... and has stepped up monitoring with the U.S.
In regards to Seoul's position on whether to scrap its military intel-sharing pact with Japan,... defense minister Jeong Kyeong-doo said that the government is carefully reviewing the option,... but nothing has been decided.
