The statement of Basavaraj Patil, VG Siddhartha's driver for three years, filed with Dakshin Kannada police. On reaching the bridge, Siddhartha alighted the car around 6pm and told Patil that he has some site to visit and asked the driver to go to the other end of the road and wait. When Siddhartha didn't return till 8pm, Patil called him but his phone was switched off. However, the driver kept calling him, but in vain.
