Christmas comes early as Santas gather for World Congress in Denmark

Onlookers were treated to an unseasonably festive sight in Copenhagen, as hundreds of Santa Clauses from around the world paraded through the streets as part of the 62nd World Santa Claus Congress. The annual event draws attendees from Japan to Argentina, with most Santas sporting traditional red coats and white beards despite the warmer-than-winter weather. The congress, first held in 1957, takes place at the world's oldest amusement park - Bakken, outside Copenhagen. The parade marks the opening of the four-day event after which Santas bathe in the sea and compete in various competitions such as an obstacle course and pentathlon.
