Trump says Xi ‘acted responsibly’ regarding Hong Kong protests, as Beijing condemns vandalism and EU accuses China of interference

US President Donald Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping has “acted responsibly” in regard to massive extradition bill protests in Hong Kong. Beijing officials have condemned vandalism of China’s liaison office in the city and claimed foreign interference in the city’s internal affairs. But the European Union has condemned Beijing for interfering in the conflict that has dragged on for seven weeks.
