Britain weighs response to Iran's tanker seizure

Britain is figuring out how best to respond to Iran's seizure last Friday of a British-flagged oil tanker.

Little is known about Britain's next move apart from a promised "robust response", any developments?

Well Mark, the British government is expected to announce its next step in response to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards seizure of the British oil tanker Stena Impero in the Strait of Hormuz in parliament on Monday.
Defense Minister Tobias Ellwood said the UK will be speaking with international allies to see what can actually be done.
He added their priority is to make sure they come up with a solution and ensure the safety for other British-flagged ships operating in the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, an audio recording was released on Sunday by the maritime security risk firm Dryad Global.
An Iranian patrol boat is heard instructing the British tanker to change its course for a security inspection.
Then, a British naval officer from the British warship in the Gulf, the HMS Montrose, is heard reiterating to the Iranian patrol boats that they are violating international law by unlawfully attempting to board the tanker
But the British warship was too far away to prevent the seizure.
Iranian officials have praised IRGC for their apparent retaliatory move on the British oil tanker for the British seizure of an Iranian oil tanker off Gibraltar two weeks earlier.
