Verdun, February 1916, under a constant artillery shelling, French and German soldiers clash during 300 days and 300 nights. An appalling battle in the trenches of the Meuse, 300,000 men lost their life in a few months there.

Today, 16,000 French soldiers whose bodies could be identified are buried on the spot of the tragedy in the cemetery of Douaumont.
