Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to queries on the finance bill saying that the bill will look into the taxation process keeping in mind the agenda of 'Make in India'. However, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury objected saying earlier amendments to the Finance Bill 2017 are in the Supreme Court for testing of the constitutional validity of those amendments.

कांग्रेस ने गुरुवार को लोकसभा में कहा कि देश की अर्थव्यस्था को पांच हजार अरब डॉलर तक ले जाने का विचार नेक है, लेकिन सरकार के पास इस लक्ष्य को हासिल करने का ना तो कोई खाका है और ना ही दिशा है. लोकसभा में कांग्रेस के नेता अधीर रंजन चौधरी ने कहा कि अगर मौजूदा समय में भारत तीन हजार अरब डॉलर की अर्थव्यवस्था बनने वाला है तो ये आजादी के बाद कांग्रेस और दूसरे विपक्षी दलों की सरकारों में हुए सतत विकास का परिणाम है.
