Knicks Were Not Ready to Offer Kevin Durant a Max Deal The New York Knicks were concerned about Durant's recovery from his Achilles injury. Durant agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $164 million with the Brooklyn Nets. The NBA star was only interested in max contract offers, which he reportedly received from Brooklyn, the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers. Steve Mills, Knicks President, via statement The Knicks signed Julius Randle to a three-year, $63 million deal, and came to two-year agreements with Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson. Kevin Durant had surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon last month. The injury is expected to keep him out all of next season.
