Trump's Visit to North Korea Is the First for a Sitting US President He went on to hold a near one-hour meeting with Kim Jong Un, his third with North Korea's leader. During the session, Trump said that talks regarding North Korea's nuclear program would resume in "weeks." The president even offered Kim an invitation to the White House. Trump has held two previous conferences with North Korea regarding nuclear weapons. Both meetings have ended with no deal being reached.
