Possibility of a historic Kim-Trump meeting at DMZ hangs in the air

U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that North Korea and the U.S. are discussing a meeting at the demilitarized zone.
This comes after Trump tweeted yesterday... that he would be okay meeting the North Korean leader for a handshake and a "hello."

U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that his proposal on Twitter of a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un just might happen,.. raising hopes of a third summit, this time at the demilitarized zone.

"Have you heard anything from North Korea today yet?"

"We have, yes. It'll be really interesting"

After the G20 Summit in Osaka,... President Trump flew straight to Seoul for his summit with President Moon, which started with a dinner banquet on Saturday at the Blue House.
Hours earlier, Trump had tweeted that he wouldn't mind a handshake and a "hello" with the North Korean leader at the border separating the two Koreas.
President Moon said a meeting like that would be great,... but either way, the proposal itself has great significance.
.
"President Trump shook the world with a single tweet. If the meeting takes place as mentioned in the tweet, that would be a historic event. But even if it doesn't, that itself is an accomplishment because President Trump expressed great sincerity to Chairman Kim."

The Blue House says there's been no final decision yet,... but if it happens it would be a good chance for a positive turn in the nuclear negotiations.
And according to a senior official, the top office is open to the possibility of both a bilateral meeting between North Korea and the U.S. and a trilateral one including South Korea.
He said it will be confirmed before Trump leaves for his trip to the DMZ.
If North Korea says yes to a meeting,... it would be the first since the one four months ago in Hanoi,... where they failed to reach an agreement on the North's denuclearization.
