IGP Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam attends International Conference on Terrorism & Social Media in UK. DIGs Maqsood Ahmad , Shaukat Abbas & Saqib Ismail are accompanying the IGP Sindh.

The TASM conference brought together a range of researchers, policy-makers and practitioners, from a number of different countries and disciplinary backgrounds.

It featured presentations from leading experts. Keynote speakers were VOX-Pol Research Fellow J.M.Berger and Dr. Krisztina Huszti-Orbanon who serves as Senior Legal Advisor to UN Special Rapporteur on Counterterrorism & Human Rights .

The conference focused on how terrorists are using social media. The overarching objective was be to gain a deeper, empirically-grounded understanding of terrorist groups and lone actor terrorists.

The participants held discussion on questions of response, including comparisons between different forms of response and different jurisdictions and cultures, and considering what criteria should be employed as evaluative standards.

The IGP Sindh informed the participating delegates about the Law Enforcement Challenges in Pakistan and how the people and govt are responding to terrorism . The state of social media and its impact was also discussed .

The conference was hosted at Swansea University’s new Bay Campus United Kingdom. The Sindh Police delegates were sponsored by British High Commission Islamabad.
