Unity among Koreans in Japan a stepping stone for peace on Korean Peninsula: Moon

President Moon Jae-in held a dinner banquet with some 400 Koreans living in Japan,.. where he called for the unity of Korean residents there,... emphasizing their important role of contributing to peace on the Korean Peninsula.
“The unity of Korean society in Japan will be a stepping stone. Peace on the Korean Peninsula will be connected to the peace in Northeast Asia. And I believe that you will all help join forces in leading the way to an era of reconciliation and cooperation, beyond the era of conflict.”
Referring to the painful history shared by the two countries,… President Moon promised Korean residents of Japan... that his administration will do everything in its power to build friendly ties with Tokyo.
He added that Seoul will pull out all stops... for the successful hosting of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo next year.
