Seoul will not sit and watch idly if Tokyo takes retaliatory measures... in protest of recent court rulings on forced Korean laborers during World War Two.
That's coming from foreign minister Kang Kyung-hwa during the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee.
On numerous occasions,... Japan threatened reprisals if South Korea's Supreme Court goes ahead with its motion... to force the selling of assets owned by a Japanese firm... for the compensation of victims.
The top diplomat added... that her comments were made in order to prevent the situation from deteriorating further,... and that this is the message they are relaying to Japan as well.
