Pompeo calls out North Korea for its use of forced labor

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called out North Korea for its use of forced labor,... as Washington designated the regime as one of the worst human trafficking nations for the 17th year in a row.
Pompeo said on Thursday that Pyeongyang subjects its own citizens to forced labor,.. both at home and abroad,... and uses the proceeds to fund what he called "nefarious activities".
This comes as the State Department's latest Trafficking in Persons Report placed North Korea among the lowest Tier 3 countries,... along with China, Iran and Russia, among others.
The report also detailed North Korea's abuses,... including its forced mobilization of adults and school children to work in factories and other industries.
