Notre Dame Cathedral holds first mass since Paris fire
  • 5 years ago
Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris held its first mass on Saturday since a massive fire broke out at the centuries-old place of worship in April.
For security reasons, only about 30 people, including priests and church employees participated in the service,... which was held inside a side-chapel left undamaged by the blaze.
Worshippers wore hard-hat helmets...and burnt wood debris was still visible.
Although it's still unknown about when the cathedral will open to the public, Father Pierre Vivares told the Associated Press that it will take a lot of time and work to rebuild the cathedral.
