Demonstrators and police clash during Hong Kong anti-extradition protests
  • 5 years ago
Hong Kong police and anti-extradition bill protesters have engaged in a heated confrontation in front of the city's legislative building. Police used pepper spray and later tear gas at around 4pm on July 12, 2019, as they tried to drive demonstrators from major roads around the government complex. Thousands of protesters have surrounded the building since Wednesday morning, prompting lawmakers to delay a second reading of the contentious extradition bill.
