Hongkongers react to protests about the government’s controversial extradition bill

Organisers say more than one million Hong Kong people participated in one of the largest demonstrations in the city’s history on June 9, 2019. Despite the huge turnout, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam insists her government will go ahead with plans to push a controversial bill that would allow extraditions to more jurisdictions including the Chinese mainland. The SCMP spoke with Hongkongers the day after the protests.
